Expansion in the Market

Of course, this slow and steady approach also means that rivals have sometimes stolen the march when it comes to expansion in the market. Despite its popularity and perceived success, McDonalds has till date set up only 108 outlets across the country when compared to Pizza Hut’s 127 outlets and Domino’s’ 133 outlets. Surely, not a leader there!

Then again, there’s the undeniable fact that the average revenue per customer would be much more in Pizza Hut & Domino’s than McDonalds. Pizzas do cost much more than burgers, you see-at least in the Indian market! This tentative approach has also meant a more modest presence in non-metro cities. In Pune, Indore, Bangalore and Hyderabad combined, McDonalds has just 17 outlets while rival Domino’s has almost double the number at 33 outlets!
